Frequently Asked Questions

Below you can find some answers to some common questions people may have. If the question you’re looking to answer isn’t found here, it may be found on the How It Works page. If not, you can always contact us at and we’ll be happy to help you to the best of our ability.

What does it mean to submit my anonymous data?

By using the discount at checkout, you are agreeing to submit the demographic information collected at checkout (this does not include your name, birth date, and location), which includes information about your lifestyle and diet, as well as your lab results when they’re processed. This information will be added to the public data pool so it can benefit professional and citizen researchers alike. No further action is needed after filling out the demographic info form, applying the discount, and checking out (beyond getting the blood test, of course!).

Further information can be found on the Terms and Conditions page.

How long will it take to get my results?

The time it will take to receive your results largely depends on what you have ordered. Different tests have different turnaround times. The general average is a few days, but it can be as much as two weeks with a larger quantity or less commonly ordered tests. If you have not received your results, or a notification in your LabCorp online portal that results are pending, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

What is the PayPal and Venipuncture Fee on checkout?

This is a combined fee that covers the drawing fee (cost of the blood draw done by the LabCorp phlebotomist) and the fee that PayPal automatically charges. As we add more payment methods this will be updated to accurately charge based on the different fees charged by different payment handlers.

I already paid for my order but I forgot to add a test! What do I do?

So long as you haven’t gotten the blood draw yet, simply contact us with your situation and we’ll be happy to help you get all the tests you need added to your order.

I placed an order but I can’t find my lab order form!

If you haven’t received your lab order form via the email you supplied at checkout within one business day, first check your spam folder in your email. If it isn’t there, simply contact us and we will be happy to resend it for you.

I filled out my name/birth date/address wrong on an order. What do I do?

Please do not use a form with incorrect information, as this can lead to a delay in results due to LabCorp requiring information that is an exact match to your LabCorp account. Email us right away with what information needs to be corrected, and the updated information, and we will correct the form and send the corrected version. No sweat!

I don’t live in the US, can I still use Own Your Labs?

You can still use Own Your Labs if you can access a LabCorp within the US to get the blood draw. Most people do this if they were already intending to travel to the US beforehand. If you cannot access a LabCorp in the US, then Own Your Labs cannot fulfill your order at this time. We hope to offer services outside the US soon.

I placed an order but am uncomfortable going to a LabCorp due to COVID-19. What can I do?

You can either contact us to let us know that you intend to temporarily postpone the blood draw, or ask for a full refund. We don’t want anyone going to a LabCorp if they feel uncomfortable doing so, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. We do ask that you let us know in this case, as we may follow-up otherwise to ensure no one placed an order and forgot to redeem it.

Due to the pandemic all orders have an automatic 6 month grace period for fulfillment.

I am in NJ/NY/RI can I still use Own Your Labs?

Unfortunately, due to state laws regarding private testing, you cannot use Own Your Labs in these states.

I have a test I’d like to get, but don’t see it on the shop page. Can I request it?

If you contact us and let us know what test you’re looking for, we can check to see if we can provide it. Please note that we only offer tests through LabCorp at this time and thus tests from other labs may not be available if it is not also provided by LabCorp.
