Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (14)

[CMP] Fasting recommended (see description for details). Similar to the Basic Metabolic Panel (8), this is a blood test that checks several substances in the blood, including glucose (blood sugar), electrolytes, and markers of kidney function. However, the Comprehensive panel also looks at markers of liver function. It is also one of the most commonly ordered tests.

Special instruction: Some tests in this bundle may exhibit interference when sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin (also termed as vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H, or coenzyme R). It is recommended to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of a sample.
