A marker which evaluates levels of glucose over a period of 2-3 weeks by measuring glycated proteins. More sensitive to short term changes, but also influenced less by abnormal hemoglobins compared to Hemoglobin A1c.

[hbA1C, A1C] – A measure of average blood glucose (or blood sugar) levels averaged over the last 2 to 3 months. Medical professionals often use this test in combination with others to diagnose risk of diabetes.

Special instruction: Some tests in this bundle may exhibit interference when sample is collected from a person who is consuming a supplement with a high dose of biotin (also termed as vitamin B7 or B8, vitamin H, or coenzyme R). It is recommended to stop biotin consumption at least 72 hours prior to the collection of a sample.

Preparation instructions: Fasting prior to blood draw recommended for some tests in this bundle (per LabCorp)

Turnaround time: Expected turnaround is within one day, although this may vary depending on other tests ordered for the same blood draw, and expected variation with LabCorp testing.
